Our Past & Present
Our story begins more than half a century ago. In 1961 Shelbourne Wallace and his father opened a small Oldsmobile dealership in downtown Bristol. By the mid‑1970s they saw that local body shops weren’t meeting drivers’ needs, so they launched a dedicated collision repair center. From the start, their philosophy was simple: every repair should be good enough for their own family to ride in.
We’ve moved and expanded since those early days, but our commitment to safety and quality hasn’t changed. Today we operate from a modern facility in Bristol, Tennessee, and we serve motorists throughout Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Western North Carolina. We’ve invested in the latest equipment and training to handle everything from classic steel frames to advanced aluminum structures and high‑voltage electric vehicles.
Our White‑Glove Promise
Deep Community Roots
Wallace Collision Repair has always been a family‑owned business, and that sense of community shows in everything we do. Many of our staff grew up in the Tri‑Cities, and we support local organizations and events whenever we can. We also partner with the Wallace family of dealerships—Wallace Kia, Wallace Subaru, Wallace Volkswagen and others—to provide a seamless experience. Customers return to us because they know they’ll be treated with honesty and respect, and that we’ll stand behind our workmanship.
Dealership Partners
We work closely with our sister dealerships in Bristol and Kingsport, including Wallace Kia, Wallace Subaru and Wallace Volkswagen. These partnerships give us access to genuine parts and manufacturer expertise, and they allow us to coordinate services between the collision center and dealership service departments.
